Update

It is nearing finals week here at UAF. That means that the print, pottery, and jewelry sales are coming up too!
Friday April 29th 12-5pm at the UAF Art Department, upstairs.

There is also an art show happening at the UAF Art Department Gallery this Thursday, April 21st 5-7pm.

On another note, almost ALL of the snow is GONE in Fairbanks! We didn't get a whole lot of snow or cold weather this year. This summer might be a high FIRE season and have lots of mosquitoes...

Senator Pete Kelly is proposing a bill that would cut $50 million from the UA budged and bring with it an anticipated 400-500 UA job cuts. The bill also would mean that UA would need to raise the tuition cost by 15%, in addition to the already planned 5% raise for next year. It has not yet been set in stone so, you can contact them/him to tell them/him how you feel about it. Alaska Dispatch News was my source and you can go there too and find out more.

BunBun is doing well. I changed her food recently, so she didn't want to eat it for several days. I was feeding her "old lady food" (high in fiber) that she really liked and the new stuff is not very different in terms of nutrition, but it smells different. SO, she won't eat it. I got some of her old lady food to mix with the new food, now she eats it.

APRIL ART SHOW

Hello, it's been a while...

I'm having another First Friday show, April the 1st at Sipping Streams Tea Company!
The opening will be that day from 5 to 7pm and there will be Alaska's award-winning tea to drink! I will have woodblock and silkscreen prints there on display and available for purchase. The show will hang for the month of April, so if you don't make the opening there is plenty of time to see it.
Sounds like fun, right?

Sketches on brown paper

I got some recycled drawing paper sold by Bee Paper. I found that it is a good weight for ink and markers, about 65-80 pound(?). Although, heavy applications of watercolor would not be best suited for this paper.
The texture is not so smooth, nor is it porous and bumpy like some papers. I found that if I want to erase a line in ink I can CAREFULLY scratch at the paper with my pocket knife to remove the line. It is because the paper is soft, I think, not so tightly pressed.
If you want to visit Bee Paper's web site, there is a link below.

WEBSITE???

Hello everyone! I have been so very busy with school work, so very busy... Now I am done, at least until spring semester.
I've been thinking of putting up my own website. I know I have a long way to go, but I've designed a home page.

There is a large featured artwork slide show, to show off the most important images, and a side menu next to it that includes links, RSS, and share buttons.  The featured gallery would go to a page where images would be displayed, (I don't know how yet) and the posts from the blog section would lead to a blog-type page.

I hope to display artwork collections, new artwork, blog posts, and sketches. I chose it to be monochrome, other than the logo, images, and links and buttons when you hover over them. That is because I wanted the website content (the artwork) to pop out more. I chose black as a background because I think it looks nice and it works well with my style. Websites with a black background are often hard to find due to the readability issue that most of those sites have, but I compensated the issue with the font size and a simple design. I also want it to be a little different from other common websites out there on the internet.

Tell me what you think. Do you think I should change?

BunBun and things

BunBun really enjoys the memory foam bath mat with micro fiber. She prides herself in nap taking and loafing. She is getting thinner and her fur is not as soft as it used to be, but she's still peppy and loves attention as always.
Recently I moved BunBun's cage slightly. Now it's beside the table.
