WEBSITE???

Hello everyone! I have been so very busy with school work, so very busy... Now I am done, at least until spring semester.
I've been thinking of putting up my own website. I know I have a long way to go, but I've designed a home page.

There is a large featured artwork slide show, to show off the most important images, and a side menu next to it that includes links, RSS, and share buttons.  The featured gallery would go to a page where images would be displayed, (I don't know how yet) and the posts from the blog section would lead to a blog-type page.

I hope to display artwork collections, new artwork, blog posts, and sketches. I chose it to be monochrome, other than the logo, images, and links and buttons when you hover over them. That is because I wanted the website content (the artwork) to pop out more. I chose black as a background because I think it looks nice and it works well with my style. Websites with a black background are often hard to find due to the readability issue that most of those sites have, but I compensated the issue with the font size and a simple design. I also want it to be a little different from other common websites out there on the internet.

Tell me what you think. Do you think I should change?

BunBun and things

BunBun really enjoys the memory foam bath mat with micro fiber. She prides herself in nap taking and loafing. She is getting thinner and her fur is not as soft as it used to be, but she's still peppy and loves attention as always.
Recently I moved BunBun's cage slightly. Now it's beside the table.

Update

Well, the fall semester at UAF is off to a start today. I am taking: Life Drawing, Print Making, World Art History, Japanese language, Graphics and Multimedia for the web, and 2D Digital Design.
I have some pretty awesome teachers this year and I am looking forward to doing things and learning. I quit my job at Sipping Streams Tea Company, mostly because I want to be focused on school right now.
I hope I can find time to draw comics!

BunBun did take a nap today and she's been shedding her fur, so that hair gets everywhere in my apartment. She sometimes leaves poops on her special mat for me to clean up. However, even with all the hairs and poops she's the best room mate.

DENALI

Recently the United States' President, Barack Obama, visited Alaska. The large mountain, known as Denali to Alaskans and Mt. McKinley to the rest of the United States, was officially announced as being renamed to Denali.

Summer art classes: DONE!

It has been completed! I am done with both 6 week art classes (drawing and cartoon & comic art)! Overall, I learned much from my teacher, Jamie Smith, and other fellow students. What I enjoyed most was that there were always assignments, critiques and in class exercises to do. I went through 3 sketchbooks, learned how to use pastels, practiced a lot with a dip pen, and read more comics. It was fun and I am looking forward to the Fall Semester starting in a few weeks on September 3rd.

First Friday Gallery Reviews

Hello!
Yesterday in Fairbanks was the first Friday of the month. That is when many galleries and local businesses have featured artists and their work in their shop, studio, or gallery. The openings take place 5-8pm, and depending on the business and the artist can stay up for a week to a month or more. I myself went on an adventure hoping to see many of the show openings around Fairbanks.

Business:  Expressions in Glass
Artist:  Jose Mojica
The glass store was impressive, as I had not been there before. Jose's show was in the building's studio. Very clean. Had posters, buttons, books, and other merchandise for sale. Framing and hanging of the work was well done. Artwork was very stylistic and consistent. Mostly focusing on his comic, Jeff & Taylor, plus posters of his other works.
Most pieces were done with digital software, but some were done traditionally with ink.
Cool guy to meet and talk with. He has goals and knows where he wants to go.

Business:  Centennial Center for the Arts
Artist:  There were lots of them
Nice space for the art to be displayed in with nice lighting to match. Nice variety of artists who work in different mediums. I did not get too meet any of the exhibitors because they did not make themselves known. Most of the art there had something to do with birch trees... paintings of birch trees, ink drawings of birch trees, drawings of birch trees, photographs of birch trees, sculptures made of birch trees...

Anyhow, as I was exiting the Alaska Land parking lot my one of my engine belts broke. So I had no choice but to return home.
